A 12-year-old girl, Arya Cabrera, tragically died after falling from a third-story window during a sleepover at a friend’s house over the weekend. Her mother, Charlene Cabrera, is seeking answers about the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death.
“We don’t have any answers right now, but I’m hoping that soon we will get answers’ Charlene Cabrera told WFXT’s reporters.
A memorial has been set up at the site of Arya’s fall outside the apartment building on Village Drive. The Worcester County District Attorney’s office confirmed they responded to the unattended death of a child following the fall. “Imean, want justice for my daughter, so if something did happen, (was) malicious, I would expect there to be justice for her Cabrera told WFXT.
As the investigation continues, flowers, candles, and balloons are being placed both at the site of Arya’s death and outside her home. Cabrera is holding on to memories of her daughter. “Just her loud personality, she was beautiful, like so beautiful. She wanted to be a model. She loved doing her dances and her makeup. She loved doing her makeup and her hair” she told the outlet. Cabrera expressed gratitude for the community’s support as she plans Arya’s funeral and hopes for closure soon.
